End of March

Hints of autumn

Daytime and evening temperatures decrease, so it is a lovely time of year for hiking and horseback riding. After several days without rain, the lush greens of summer soften into golden hues to show that autumn is coming.

Trees begin to show their colors and the most common bush in Patagonia, the wild rose bursts into fruit with its rose hips. The green bushes covered with plump red fruit contrasted with the brilliant blue water of Patagonia’s stunning lakes and rivers will provide you with an opportunity to take amazing photographs. Local people start preparing delicious rose hip jam, they strain the cooked fruit a couple of times through a sieve and then cook it again to achieve its full richness of flavor. You can help learn the whole process during your stay at Mallin Colorado in the end of March
